My Role and Contribution
As the UI Designer, my role was pivotal in translating research insights and wireframes into high-fidelity, functional UI designs. I worked closely with the project lead and design lead, synthesizing input from user research and stakeholder feedback to craft a design that was both aesthetically pleasing and user-centric.
Design Objectives
Our mission was to craft a visually striking user interface that seamlessly incorporated themes of sports, gaming, metaverse, and futuristic design. This required not only a deep understanding of user needs and behaviours but also a strategic approach to integrating diverse visual elements while maintaining brand integrity.
Addressing Design Challenges
Navigating stringent brand guidelines while incorporating multifaceted themes was a significant challenge.
We needed to ensure that the final product was innovative yet consistent with FIFA’s established brand identity. This required meticulous attention to detail and a balanced approach to design.
Developing the Visual Language
The design process began with extensive moodboarding, drawing inspiration from the realms of gaming, sports, and futuristic design. These moodboards served as a visual foundation, helping us align on the direction and thematic elements early on.
Dark colours and gradients were employed to create a modern and engaging visual language. New typefaces and geometric shapes were introduced to enhance the gamified feel, creating a cohesive design that resonated with our target audience.
